Under an agreement announced today, the Bell Atlantic Data Solutions Group will provide Information-Highway.com with Bell Atlantic Infospeedsm DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), Internet Protocol (IP) routing service and affordable, high-speed Internet access.

Information-Highway.com will repackage the services and create its own Internet offering, which will feature stock quotes, local news and weather, and other specialized content. Information-Highway.com will begin offering the services to customers in the Bell Atlantic service area next month.

"Our goal is to give business customers -- including Information service providers -- the tools they need to gain a competitive edge in a world where e-commerce reigns supreme," said Joe Farina, president and chief executive officer of the Bell Atlantic Data Solutions Group. The Data Solutions Group specializes in meeting the data networking and Internet needs of large business customers.

"We're providing our customer, Information-Highway.com, with the DSL platform and network elements it needs to succeed as an ISP," said Farina. "In turn, Information-Highway.com will supply a full range of Internet solutions to its customers. "

The arrangement enables Information-Highway.com to establish its first-ever DSL presence in the eastern U.S. Information-Highway.com provides Internet services to customers in Canada, Mexico and the U.S.

"Our company will now be a full-service provider of Internet solutions with a much larger geographic reach," said John Robertson, chief executive officer of Information-Highway.com. "We expect the agreement with Bell Atlantic to dramatically increase our customer base in the next three years."

Bell Atlantic Infospeed DSL provides reliable Internet access at speeds up to 125 times faster than ordinary dial-up modem connections. DSL enables users to remain connected to the Internet 24-hours-a-day, eliminating annoying busy signals as well as the time and cost of waiting to connect. And, because the service works on the same line as the phone, customers don't have to pay for additional lines -- they can talk while they search the Net.
